Zimbabwe: Parliament launches public consultation on data protection bill

The Parliament of Zimbabwe launched, on 16 June 2020, a public consultation ('the Consulation') on the Cyber Security and Data Protection Bill, H.B. 18, 2019 ('the Bill'), which was gazetted on 15 May 2020. In particular, the Bill covers, among other things, the creation of a Cybersecurity Authority, the rules for processing both sensitive and non-sensitive personal data, the duties of data controllers and processors, codes of conduct, as well as whistleblowing.

The comments must be submitted to [email protected] or [email protected] by 26 June 2020.
