Egypt: MOCIT announces signature of MoUs with Saudi Arabia on AI and e-payments

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology ('MOCIT') announced, on 17 December 2019, that it signed a three-year memorandum of understanding ('MoU') with Saudi Arabia to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the areas of artificial intelligence ('AI') and digital transformation and a second MoU between the Saudi Post and the Egypt National Post Organization on cooperation in the area of e-payments. In particular, the MoU aims to enable e-payments between Saudi Post and Egypt Post, link e-wallets of pilgrims, visitors, and tourists of the two countries, and recharge EasyPay Wallets.
