Czech Republic: Parliamentary Committee recommends approval of whistleblowing bill

The Committee on Public Administration and Regional Development of the Chamber of Deputies adopted, on 15 July 2021, a resolution, following a discussion of the Government's bill for the protection of whistleblowers, which seeks to transpose the Directive on the Protection of Persons who Report Breaches of Union Law (Directive (EU) 2019/1937) ('the Whistleblowing Directive'). In particular, the Committee recommended that the Chamber of Deputies discuss and approve the bill as presented.

The bill will now be put forward for a second reading.

You can download the press release here and track the bill's progress here, both only available in Czech.
