Kazakhstan: MDAI releases statement prompting citizens to report illegal disclosure of personal data to initiate investigations

The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry ('MDAI') issued, on 7 September 2020, a statement allowing citizens of Kazakhstan to report report to it any violations or illegal disclosure of personal data. In particular, the MDAI noted that under the latest revisions to personal data regulations, it may carry out investigations and issue administrative penalties where violations to the law are found.
