Summary: The LDSG provides for derogations from the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR') and data protection requirements within Schleswig-Holstein. The LDSG, among other things, addresses topics such as special processing situations and data subject rights, as well as setting out provisions for international data transfers and data protection officers. The ULD is generally quite active and often releases guidance, which has particularly emphasised the health sector and video surveillance.
