Iran: MICEX announces draft data protection bill
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology ('MICEX') announced, on 26 July 2018, that the Government had drafted a data protection bill ('the Bill'). In particular, the Bill outlines data subject rights, the obligations of controllers and processors, offences and punishment, and provides for the establishment of the Supervisory Board of Personal Data, which is tasked with receiving and processing stakeholder complaints to protect personal data.
