France: CNIL publishes updated guide to personal data security
On March 26, 2024, the French data protection authority (CNIL) published the updated guide to personal data security. CNIL highlighted that the guide recommends security measures pursuant to the requirements under Article 32 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Further, CNIL noted that the guide intends for organizations to track changes between different versions of software.
CNIL outlined five updates to the guide, which now includes information on:
- managing data security;
- cloud computing;
- the design and development of mobile apps;
- the design and training of artificial intelligence (AI); and
- application programming interfaces (APIs).
You can access the updated guide, only available in French, here.
