Europe: Garante hosts study visit for NCPDP under European Commission's TAIEX initiative
The National Centre for the Protection of Personal Data ('NCPDP') announced, on 28 September 2022, that its representatives will carry out a study visit titled "Evaluation of the Impact on Data Protection and the role of the Data Protection Officer" between 26 and 28 September 2022, hosted by the Italian data protection authority ('Garante'). In particular, the NCPDP specified that during the 3-day study visit, which will take the form of workshops, aspects related to processing operations that require a Data Protection Impact Assessment will be analysed in depth, as well as the role of the data protection officer, data breach risks, and the transfer of personal data to third countries, including a practical segment hosted by Telecom Italia SPA.
Notably, the NCPDP expressed that the study visit had been organised with the support of the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument of the European Commission ('TAIEX'), a technical assistance and information exchange tool, managed and financed by the Directorate-General for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations ('DG NEAR') of the European Commission.
