Cayman Islands: Ombudsman issues the fourth quarter report of 2020

The Office of the Ombudsman ('the Ombudsman') issued, on 28 January 2021, its report for the fourth quarter of 2020. In particular, the report highlights, among other things, the number of cases received concerning matters such as data protection and whistleblowing. Specifically, the report outlines that 16 data protection cases and two whistleblower cases were received in the fourth quarter of 2020. In addition, the report indicates that the Ombudsman carried over 76 cases from the previous quarter and received 51 cases in total in the fourth quarter.
