Washington: Bill on establishing an AI task force sent to Rules Committee

On February 20, 2024, House Bill 1934 on establishing an artificial intelligence (AI) task force was returned to the Rules Committee, after the bill was placed on second reading on February 10, 2024. The bill establishes a task force that will assess trends as well as the development and use of generative AI by private and public sector entities and make recommendations to the legislature regarding standards for the use and regulation of generative AI systems.
