Virginia: Bill on use of AI by public bodies and establishing AI Commission sent to Governor for action

On March 11, 2024, Senate Bill 487 for an Act to direct the Joint Commission on Technology and Science to examine the use of artificial intelligence by public bodies in the Commonwealth and the creation of a Commission on Artificial Intelligence; report, was enrolled and sent to the Governor of Virginia for action. The President of the State Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives signed the bill on March 9 and March 8, 2024, respectively.
