Utah: Data protection and AI legislations enters into force
On May 1, 2024, the following data protection legislation entered into force in Utah:
- Senate Bill 98 on Online Data Security and Privacy Amendments;
- Senate Bill 295 for Motor Vehicle Consumer Data Protection;
- House Bill 427 on Access to Protected Health Information; and
- House Bill 491 for the Government Data Privacy Act.
In addition, the following legislation on artificial intelligence (AI) entered into force:
- Senate Bill 131 for the Information Technology Act Amendments; and
- Senate Bill 149 for the AI Policy Act.
