International: Rosfinmonitoring announces AML/CTF protocol between CSTO and SRPFR

The Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation ('Rosfinmonitoring') announced, on 29 May 2019, that the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States ('SRPFR') had signed a Protocol on Cooperation with the Collective Security Treaty Organisation ('CSTO') on anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing ('AML/CTF'). In particular, Rosfinmonitoring highlighted that the information exchange between financial intelligence services is key for AML/CTF, and outlined plans to connect Tajikistan, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Belarus to the Information Exchange System by 2020, which would increase the efficiency of interaction between the financial intelligence services of the member states of the SRPFR.
