Illinois: Bill introducing Protect Health Data Privacy Act assigned to Committee

On March 12, 2024, House Bill 4093 for the Protect Health Data Privacy Act was assigned to the Judiciary – Civil Committee in the House of Representatives.

In particular, the bill sets out requirements for regulated entities, such as the obligation to disclose and maintain a health data privacy policy that clearly and conspicuously discloses specified information, prohibition to collect, share, or store health data, except in specified circumstances, and conditions for the lawful sale of consumer health data.
