Burkina Faso: CIL hosts digital legislation reform mission

The Burkina Faso data protection authority ('CIL') hosted, on 14 February 2019, a mission by the Regulatory Authority of Electronic Communications and Posts on behalf of the Ministry of Development of the Digital Economy and Posts, which aims to update the digital legislative and regulatory framework in Burkina Faso. In particular, CIL highlighted that the exchanges focused on personal data and non-personal data, including public data, and opened discussions on the rationale behind the decision to update the legislative framework and digital regulation.
