Thailand PDPA: What You Need To Know

Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act 2019 ('PDPA') entered into force on 1 June 2022. The PDPA was originally set to enter into effect on 27 May 2020 but was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  

The Personal Data Protection Committee ('PDPC') was established on 11 January 2022 and is the authority for the enforcement and supervision of data protection activities under the PDPA.
