Virginia: Governor signs SB 436 into law to amend provisions relating to telehealth plan

The Virginia Governor signed, on 11 April 2022, Senate Bill ('SB') 436 and its companion bill, House Bill ('HB') 81, to amend §32.1-122.03:1 of the Virginia Code. In particular, SB 436 stipulate that the Board of Health shall develop and maintain, in consultation with the Virginia Telehealth Network, as a component of the State Health Plan a Statewide Telehealth Plan to promote an integrated approach to the introduction and use of telehealth services and telemedicine services and, among others, facilitate changes to the Statewide Telehealth Plan as accepted medical practices and technologies evolve.
