Utah: Bill for Consumer Privacy Act and Commercial Email Act fails to pass State Senate

Senate Bill ('SB') 200 for the Utah Consumer Privacy Act and Utah Commercial Email Act was filed, on 5 March 2021, as a bill not passed, after failing to pass the State Senate before the adjournment of the General Session. The bill aimed to, among other things, provide for certain consumer rights, require businesses to provide clear information regarding how personal data is used, require businesses to maintain data protection assessments, and provide the Attorney General with various powers.
