UK: ICO publishes overview and core components of AI framework
The Information Commissioner's Office ('ICO') published, on 26 March 2019, a blog post outlining the proposed structure and areas of focus of the ICO's new auditing framework for artificial intelligence ('AI') ('the Framework'). In particular, the blog post highlights the key components under the Framework, including the governance and accountability legal obligation under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR') and AI-specific risk areas such as fairness and transparency in profiling, fully automated decision making models, data security, and data subject rights.
In addition, the ICO noted their intention to present a non-exhaustive list of organisational and technical controls that they consider good practice.
