Togo: National Assembly adopts bill on cybersecurity and cybercrime

The National Assembly announced, on 6 December 2018, that it had adopted the bill on cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime ('the Bill') which will transpose Directive C/DIR. 1/08/1 on Fighting Cybercrime Within the Economic Community of West African States. The National Assembly outlined that the Bill comprises 45 articles and seeks to improve cybersecurity, counter cybercrime, align the Togolese criminal justice system with current digital developments, as well as establish the National Agency for Cybersecurity.
