Switzerland: Commission of Council of States announces compromise solution on profiling

The Political Institutions Commission of the Council of States ('the Commission') announced, on 19 May 2020, that, after the second reading of the draft law revising the Federal Act on Data Protection 1992, a compromise solution on profiling was adopted. In particular, the Commission noted that a risk-based approach to profiling was adopted and that it was decided that that the data processed for the purpose of assessing the creditworthiness of a person should not be older than five years.
