Sweden: IMY publishes Guidance on the GDPR and AI
On February 22, 2024, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) published Guidance on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Guidance consists of two parts, a technical part and a legal part, which the IMY intends to update on an ongoing basis. The technical part titled 'Technical description of AI' discusses the technical aspects of AI, including explanations of the terms 'AI,' 'machine learning,' and 'deep learning,' as well as insights on different AI training methods. The legal part, titled 'GDPR and AI' discusses how to determine when the GDPR is applicable in the development or use of AI.
