Spain: AEPD fines individual €2,000 for unlawful data processing

The Spanish data protection authority ('AEPD') issued, on 30 July 2021, its decision in proceeding PS/00200/2021, fining an individual €2,000 for a violation of Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR'). In particular, the decision highlights that the individual had created a fake profile on a dating site using a photograph and the telephone number of the claimant, without obtaining the consent of the latter.
