Spain: AEPD fines De Vere Spain €4,000 for violating Article 21 of the GDPR
The Spanish data protection authority ('AEPD') issued, on 2 July 2020, a resolution ('the Resolution') in proceedings PS/00475/2019, fining De Vere Spain S.L. €4,000 for violating the data subject's right to object to the processing of their data under Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR'). In particular, De Vere Spain had not responded to the data subjects request to stop processing their data and the data subject had continued to receive commercial calls. Moreover, the AEPD highlighted that De Vere Spain made a payment of €4,000 and that the proceedings are terminated.
