Spain: AEPD fines Automoción €1,000 for violation of Article 6 of GDPR

The Spanish data protection authority ('AEPD') issued, on 4 February 2020, a resolution ('the Resolution') in proceedings PS/00292/2019, fining Automoción S.L. €1,000 because one of its employees uploaded a colleague's photo, name, telephone number, as well as a sexual description to an erotic website without her consent, in violation of Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR'). Furthermore, the data subject received unsolicited calls of a sexual nature. Moreover, the AEPD found that since Automoción directly proceeded to pay the fine within the requested time frame the fine could be reduced to €800.
