South Korea: PIPC announces support hub for pseudonymised information handling in cooperation with KISA

The Personal Information Protection Commission ('PIPC') announced, on 19 November 2020, that, jointly with the Korea Internet & Security Agency ('KISA'), it will operate a pseudonymised information support hub. In particular, the two authorities noted that the hub will provide advice, guidance, and counselling, among other things, for the safe handling of pseudonymised of data. Furthermore, the PIPC published the operation plan of the hub which includes example scenarios for the safe handling of pseudonymised data, as well as of the types of software and equipment that may be needed for this operation.
