Singapore: PDPC updates guide on developing a data protection management program
The Personal Data Protection Commission ('PDPC') released, on 18 November 2020, its updated guide on developing a data protection management program that seeks to assist organisations with developing their personal data protection policies and practices. Furthermore, the guide outlines what information should be included within a policy, the roles and responsibilities of different employees, and the importance of reviewing data protection policies and practices. In addition, the guide provides information on documenting data flows, the different accountability tools that are available, incorporating data protection practices such as data protection by design, and establishing risk monitoring and reporting structures.
