Schleswig-Holstein: ULD publishes activity report for 2020

The State Commissioner for Data Protection in Schleswig-Holstein ('ULD') published, on 30 March 2021, its 2020 activity report on data protection and freedom of information. In particular, the report addresses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, while also addressing several other topics, such as working from home, homeschooling, and the use of contact tracing apps.

In addition, the report highlights that the number of complaints and data breaches reported to the ULD increased by 27% and 16% respectively. Specifically, the report outlines that the ULD received 1,497 complaints, 406 data breach notifications, and took remedial action in the form of warnings and restricting processing activities.
