Saskatchewan: OIPC issues finalised HIPA rules of procedure

The Office of the Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner ('OIPC') released, on 4 September 2018, the finalised version of its rules of procedure ('the Rules of Procedure'), which includes information on proactively reporting privacy breaches under the Health Information Protection Act 1999 ('HIPA'). In particular, the Rules of Procedure outline the steps that must be taken by a trustee, the contents of the privacy breach notification, and the circumstances in which the OIPC may issue a report.
