San Marino: Council holds first reading of draft data protection law

The Grand and General Council ('the Council') held, on 21 June 2018, the first reading of the proposal for a law on the protection of natural persons regarding the processing of personal data ('the Draft Law'), which was introduced on 15 May 2018. The Draft Law aims to align San Marino's legislation with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR') and establish a data protection authority. The Draft Law will now be examined by the competent Permanent Council Commision.

You can read the Draft Law here, download the report on the Draft Law here and track its progress here, all only available in Italian.
