Saint Kitts and Nevis: Legislators pass Whistleblowers Protection Bill

On November 20, 2023, the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis announced that the Whistleblowers Protection Bill 2023 (the Bill) was passed into law. The Bill aims to safeguard individuals who report illicit activities within an organization, particularly in the public sector. The Attorney General, Garth Wilkin, emphasized that the Bill not only empowers individuals to report corrupt or illegal activities but also strengthens the Anti-Corruption Act 2023 by providing a secure framework for whistleblowers.

Furthermore, the Bill is due to enter into force on a day to be fixed by the Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs by order published in the Gazette.
