Saarland: Saarland Commissioner presents annual activity report 2019
The Saarland data protection authority ('the Saarland Commissioner') presented, on 11 March 2020, its 2019 annual activity report ('the Report') to the President of the State Parliament ('Landtag'). In particular, the Report highlights the activities of the Saarland Commissioner under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR') and details general trends as well as statistics regarding data breach notifications, complaints, investigations and enforcement actions. Moreover, the Report states that there has been an increased notification about cyber attacks as well as complaints by citizens who have become increasingly aware of their privacy rights.
