Republic of North Macedonia: Agency submits annual report 2019 to National Assembly

The Personal Data Protection Agency ('the Agency') submitted, on 1 April 2020, its annual report 2019 ('the Annual Report') to the National Assembly. In particular, the Annual Report highlights the competences and organisational structure of the Agency, the investigations it had undertaken, and implementation plans of the new Law on Personal Data Protection 2020. In addition, the Annual Report outlines that the Agency had regularly inspected organisations focused on the lawfulness of data processing. Moreover, the Annual Report states that the Agency had received 356 complaints in total in 2019 out of which 216 concerned social networks, which is 10% less than in the previous year.
