Queensland: AG seeks comments for RIA and IPA review

The Queensland Attorney-General ('AG') called, on 13 December 2016, for submissions relating to the review of the Right to Information Act 2009 ('RIA') and the Information Privacy Act 2009 ('IPA'). The consultation looks at issues that may impact contracted service providers ('CSPs') delivering services on behalf of government agencies.

In particular, the review wishes to address whether the RIA as a whole and Chapter 3 of the IPA should apply to CSPs, and whether the privacy obligations under the IPA should be extended to subcontractors.

Interested parties can submit their comments by 3 February 2017.

You can read the consultation page here and the consultation paper here.
