Qatar State: National Data Privacy Office launches Privacy by Design assessment tool
On October 16, 2023, the National Cyber Governance and Assurance Affairs (NCGA), a division of the National Cyber Security Agency, announced that the National Data Privacy Office launched a beta version of its Privacy by Design assessment tool.
In particular, the NCGA stated that this tool empowers organizations to promote development and innovation by integrating privacy controls into the initial stages of system and application design. However, the NCGA noted that the tool is not intended for assessing compliance with the requirements of Law No. 13 of 2016 Concerning Privacy and Protection of Personal Data (the Law), and invited organizations to make use of the tool and provide feedback.
