Poland: UODO and PRO sign agreement on mutual cooperation to support each other in the implementation of their statutory tasks

The Polish data protection authority ('UODO') announced, on 21 July 2020, that it had signed an agreement ('the Agreement') on mutual cooperation with the Patient Rights Ombudsman ('PRO'). In particular, the UODO stated that this cooperation aims, among other things, to provide for the exchange of information in areas related to the implementation of the statutory tasks of both entities, to allow better protection of patients by building appropriate awareness among both patients and data controllers, and to create conditions under which cooperation will be properly organised and supervised by both authorities.
