Paraguay: Emergency Law promulgated on Coronavirus

The Paraguay Minister of Technology and Information and Communication ('MITIC') announced, on 26 March 2020, that Law No. 6524, which declares a state of emergency in Paraguay in the face of the COVID-19 ('Coronavirus') pandemic and by which administrative, fiscal, and financial measures are established ('the Emergency Law'), was promulgated. In particular, Article 49 of the Emergency Law outlines that the organisms and entities of the State are entrusted with the adoption of technical, procedural, and regulatory measures necessary to maintain the security and protection of personal data and information that is collected, stored, processed, and/or transmitted through systems or technological means to be implemented due to this emergency situation.
