Nigeria: Incorporated Trustees of Laws and Rights Awareness Initiative files lawsuit against Zoom

OneTrust DataGuidance confirmed, on 30 June 2020, with Olumide Babalola, Managing Partner at Olumide Babalola Legal Partners LP, that the Incorporated Trustees of Laws and Rights Awareness Initiative had filed a data privacy lawsuit ('the Lawsuit') against Zoom Video Communications Inc. at the Federal High Court of Nigeria. In particular, the Lawsuit concerns Zoom's privacy policy's compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 ('NDPR'), as Zoom stated in its privacy policy that it is a data processor as opposed to a data controller.
