Netherlands: AP announces collaboration with Dutch regulators to strengthen supervision of digital activities

The Dutch data protection authority ('AP') announced, on 13 October 2021, that it will collaborate with the Netherlands authority for consumer and markets ('ACM'), the Netherlands authority for the financial markets ('AFM'), and the media authority. In particular, the AP noted that they have launched the Digital Regulation Cooperation Platform ('SDT').

Furthermore, the ACM emphasised that within the SDT, the participating regulators will exchange knowledge and experiences gained from their day-to-day oversight activities in areas such as artificial intelligence, algorithms, data processing, online design, personalisation, manipulation, and misleading practices. Moreover, the ACM highlighted that the participating regulators will explore where they are able to strengthen each other's work in enforcement procedures.

You can read the AP's press release here and the ACM's press release here, only available in Dutch.
