Maine: AG announces Shields Health Care Group data breach

The Maine Attorney General ('AG') announced, on 19 April 2023, that Shields Health Care Group, Inc. had suffered a data breach, between 7 and 28 March 2022. In particular, the AG specified that the breach was brought to Shields Health Care Group's attention between 27 and 28 March 2022, and it involved the personal data of 2,380,483 individuals. Notably, the AG provided that the breach occurred as a result of the hack of an external system, which contained drivers' license numbers or non-drivers identification card numbers.

Lastly, the AG noted that Shields Health Care Group is offering two years of Kroll service and credit monitoring and identity theft protection services.
