Japan: PPC launches survey on data security in small and medium-sized businesses

On May 15, 2024, the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC) launched a public survey on the actual situation of personal data security in small and medium-sized businesses.

The purpose of the survey is to understand the current state of safety management measures for personal information and personal data held by businesses, use the results in consideration of measures and future work of the PPC to raise awareness of personal information protection among businesses, and lead to a review of systems.

Submissions can be made until June 28, 2024, by completing the form available here and mailing it to the address specified by the PPC.

You can read the press release, only available in Japanese, here.
