Japan: METI releases revised guide for building a cyber security system and securing human resources

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry ('METI') released, on 26 April 2021, its revised guide for building a cyber security system and securing human resources. In particular, the revised guide provides a summary of materials for management and outlines development plans for human resources engaged with cyber security measures, among other things. Furthermore, the METI highlighted that the main target of the revised guide is large and medium-sized companies with more than 300 employees. However, the Personal Information Protection Commission noted that companies and organisations with other conditions, such as group companies may also use the guide.

You can read the press release here, and the revised guide here, both only available in Japanese.
