Japan: METI releases IoT security and safety framework

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry ('METI') released on, 5 November 2020, its Internet of Things ('IoT') Security and Safety Framework. In particular, the METI noted the framework examines security measures for devices and systems that connect IoT devices and systems. In addition, the METI outlined that the second layer of the framework considers new risks associated with new mechanisms that connect cyberspace and physical spaces, and highlights the risk form and the method of typological security and safety measures corresponding to such risks.

You can read the press release here and the framework here, both only available in Japanese.
