Japan: Mazda addresses data breach potentially affecting 104,732 pieces of personal information

Mazda Motor Corporation, on September 15, 2023, issued a notice addressing a data breach potentially affecting 104,732 pieces of personal information. Mazda explained that the data breach was due to unauthorized access by a third party. In this respect, Mazda noted that the affected personal information included user ID, password, name, and e-mail addresses. Mazda also confirmed that after becoming aware of the incident it shut down the server, and conducted a forensic investigation by external security experts.
