Israel: PPA publishes Q&A on regulations for transfers from EEA
The Privacy Protection Authority (PPA) published, on August 8, 2023, questions and answers (Q&A) on the privacy protection regulations on transfers from the EEA. The PPA stated that the Q&A provides answers to key questions regarding the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Provisions Regarding Information Transferred to Israel from the European Economic Area), 5783 - 2023 ( the Regulations) and their applicability to the general public. In particular, the Q&A provides clarity on the effective date and the applicability of the Regulations, the type of information covered, and the obligations of the data controller, including notification requirements, deletion of information, maintaining accuracy of information, limitation on information retention period, and implementation of organizational and security measures.
