International: Hungary ratifies Convention 108+

The Council of Europe (CoE) announced, on October 19, 2023, that Hungary joined the Protocol amending the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with Regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (Convention 108+), becoming the 30th country to do so. In particular, the CoE noted that the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the CoE deposited its ratification instrument in the presence of the Deputy Secretary General of the CoE.

Lastly, the CoE recalled the minimum threshold for Convention 108+ to enter into force is 38 ratifications, and that, this year, Convention 108+ has seen 10 countries joining it.
