International: Global CBPR Forum announces establishment of CBPR and PRP systems
On April 30, 2024, the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) Forum announced the establishment of the Global CBPR and Global Privacy Recognition for Processors (PRP) Systems with the appointment of Accountability Agents and the publication of the System documents.
Notably, the publication of the System documents will allow the Accountability Agents to issue the Global CBPR and PRP certifications. They would certify the data protection and privacy policies of interested organizations based on the Global CBPR and PRP Program Requirements and their respective Intake Questionnaires.
List of Accountability Agents
The Forum has approved the following Accountability Agents:
- Japan: Japan Institute for Promotion of Digital Economy and Community;
- Korea: Korea Internet Security Agency;
- Singapore: Infocomm Media Development Authority;
- Chinese Taipei: Institute for Information Industry; and
- US: BBB National Programs, NCC Group, Schellman, and TRUSTe.
