G7 issued, on 13 June 2021, a press release following the G7 summit between 11 to 13 June 2021. In particular, and among the discussions of the summit, the press release highlights the calls for:

• championing data free flow with trust, to better leverage the potential of valuable data-driven technologies while continuing to address challenges related to data protection;
• working to address the escalating shared threat from criminal ransomware networks;
• securing supply chains and recognising the foundational role that telecommunications infrastructure plays; and
• the continued need for respecting freedoms of speech and peoples' reasonable expectation of privacy.
