International: CoE discusses interpretation of Article 11 of Convention 108+ and model contractual clauses

The Council of Europe (CoE) announced, on September 29, 2023, that the Bureau of the Committee of Convention 108 held its 59th meeting, from September 27 to 29, 2023. In particular, the Bureau discussed the interpretation of Article 11 of the Protocol of Amendment to the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (Convention 108+), the second module of the model contractual clauses for the transfer of personal data, and the draft guidelines on the processing of sensitive personal data for the purposes of voter registration and authentication.

In addition, the Bureau exchanged views on the state of play of implementation of its work plan for 2022-2025 and decided to start working on data protection in the context of neurosciences.
