Guernsey: ODPA requests participation in benchmarking survey

On June 3, 2024, the Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA) announced the launch of a benchmarking survey for the data protection principle of accountability. The ODPA stated that it is inviting all local organizations to contribute to the public consultation.

The ODPA highlighted that the principle of accountability is the foundation upon which the other six data protection principles rest and requires those working with personal data to show responsibility for data processing. The ODPA noted that the benchmarking survey seeks to understand the measures that local organizations utilize to ensure compliance and demonstrate accountability. Results from the survey will be used by the ODPA to provide additional guidance where needed to support those required to comply with data protection regulations. The OPDA also included a section within the survey to provide feedback on its own services.
